9+ Best Low EMF Saunas

During a time that I was struggling to find answers to my health and being diagnosed with various issues, we realized that each of the possible diagnoses required some level of detox. What was the best way to detox? An infrared sauna. It’s a big purchase, but when it comes to your health, you would be surprised to what lengths you will go to feel better. Purchasing a sauna can be a life changing decision. The benefits are numerous. Having a sauna delivered to your home requires some forethought. So, make sure you are committed. Returning a sauna is not like returning a TV. During our search, we decided that the requirements for our sauna needed the following:

Low EMF

In today’s world, EMF exposure is practically impossible to avoid in our modern, technology-driven world. For some individuals, EMF exposure can cause more than one health issue. So, it made total sense to find a sauna with low electromagnetic fields.

Non-Toxic Materials

The temperature of a sauna, if so desired, can be over 150 degrees. Imagine sitting in a sauna at that temperature with some type of toxic material or liquid? There is a good chance that your breathing/lungs will be affected. You want to avoid saunas that contain toxic materials.

Fit 2-3 people

Sitting in a one-person sauna is great. Depending on the amount of time spent in a sauna during a single session, you might want to lay down and prop your legs up against the wall. This will allow you to circulate the lymph in the body. Circulating the lymph will help with enhanced immune function and detoxification by carrying off toxins, excess fluids, and other unwanted substances from the tissues.

Other Considerations

Saunas require space and energy. Make sure you have a space in your home/garage. Take measurements and be sure to speak to someone during your purchase to verify you have plenty of room. Lastly, make sure you have the proper electrical requirements. Most saunas require a 220v that is hard-wired to the electrical box. We placed ours in the garage and had an electrician install the proper breaker. The process was quick and easy.

Choosing the right sauna for you can take some effort.  At the end of the day, the choice is personal.  There are a lot of factors to consider.  But as I mentioned above, EMF Levels, Materials, and capacity were our deciding factors.  Since our purchase in 2015, sauna technology has changed.  Materials and heat technology have improved.

In this article, we will compare saunas using the following:

  • Heat Technology
  • EMF Levels
  • Materials and Construction
  • Features and Accessories
  • Other Considerations

Let’s take a closer look at each of the saunas…

Clearlight

Heat Technology:

Clearlight states that their True Wave™ far Infrared heaters have been designed with a large surface area, resulting in a lower surface temperature. The result of this low temperature is that their heaters produce more far wave infrared heat energy. The human body absorbs most infrared energy at 9.4 microns, and their True Wave™ consistently perform at a range of 6 to 12 microns, targeting the 9.4 microns. With the high far infrared output (emissivity) of their heaters, you not only get the highest quality infrared heat, but you get a lot of it, and right where you want it – your body core. The key to far infrared sauna health benefits is heating your body effectively and they position their heaters so that they surround your body concentrating the heat on your body core.

EMF Levels:

Clearlight Saunas’ TureWaveTM far infrared and full spectrum infrared heaters are most effective and safest infrared heaters available. Their models are the ONLY infrared sauna that cancels out both EMF (Electromagnetic Fields) and ELF (Extremely low frequence). The Sanctuary models will be mostly below 1mg when tested directly on the heater itself. Where you are sitting in the sauna, the EMF levels are virtually 0mg.

Materials and Construction:

Clearlight saunas are constructed using eco-certified wood, which means the wood comes from sustainable sources. Their saunas are available in grade “A” Clear Western Red Canadian Cedar that is Eco Certified wood. They follow a Chain-of-Custody (COC) path that takes raw materials from a certified source through processing, manufacturing, distribution, and printing until it is a finished product.

Features and Accessories:

Clearlight Saunas offer a range of features to enhance the sauna experience, such as HaloOneR Salt Therapy, Full Spectrum Heater, Red Light Therapy, Medical Grade Chromotherapy, Vibration Resonance Therapy, and Ergonomic Backrest.
